Country Watch: Excellent database providing country information on every possible topic, as well as links to current articles. You'll need the login info.
American History: Issues and Controversies: While the focus is on American history, still some good information on the ME, with several links to primary documents. You'll need the log-in information on the yellow bookmark.

World Factbook: The CIA's guide to most countries.
Research Guides: A collection from the Middle East Institute of Columbia University (You'll find a guide for most of the ME countries, but not all)
Center for ME Public Policy: RAND corporation documents relating to various aspects of the ME
Voice of Jihad Database--If you find the name of a Jihadist in your country (someone speaking up for war against (usually!) the west), search this database to find his speeches, tactics, plans, etc. Pretty amazing database!
Human Rights Watch: Collection of reports on human rights abuses in the ME, by country
FlashPoints: World Conflicts Site giving background on countries and conflicts around the world. Search for Lebanon, Pakistan, etc. here
